The shuttle collects you at the "#67 Reith/Spielplatz" bus stop, just a few steps from our house — about €6 per adult. Details: salzkammergutshuttle.at
Rent a bike in the village (we recommend 'Rent a Bike', +43 6131 605) — around 30 minutes to Hallstatt. The scenic lakeside walk takes about 1 hour.
The Obertraun Koppenbrüllerhöhle station (May–Nov) is a pretty 15-minute walk away; more frequent trains run from Obertraun Dachsteinhöhlen (2 km). From Hallstatt station, the ferry crosses the lake to the village. Details: oebb.at
A traditional wooden boat runs hourly (09:00–19:00) from Obertraun Seecafé (2.5 km) — about €10 one-way / €16 return: navia.at
Hallstatt's centre is traffic-free in the daytime; use the signed car parks P1, P2 or P3 (electronic displays show free spaces). Rates: first 15 min free, up to 1 hr €4.50, up to 2 hrs €8, 3–4 hrs €9.50, 5–6 hrs €10, 7–12 hrs €12, daily €18. Machines take coins, notes and Mastercard/Visa/Maestro.
Visiting before check-in? Leave luggage at the Hallstatt Luggage Depot (Seestraße 114 — suitcase €5, hand luggage €3) or in lockers at the Salzwelten Visitor Center (Salzbergstraße 21, 09:00–17:00, to 18:30 Apr–Sep).
